   What is NTI?

NTI stands for Non Traditional Instruction. Our school district is trying out this new approach so we can eliminate some of our absences due to snow in the winter. What NTI looks like will vary between grade levels, however our district has worked together to create NTI packets for project based learning for each grade level in the district so that all students in the grade level will be expected to do the same assignments. NTI folders will be heavy laminated plastic folders specifically designed for NTI and will house two NTI packets for first grade consisting on two units to cover ten snow days. Directions for each day are self-explanatory and can be found within the packets. Again, these were developed cooperatively at district level, so it is what we believe is best for the students. Most days students have a choice of which assignments to complete. The number of items that must be completed on a given NTI day is also listed within the packet. You will also be supplied with contact information for your childs school, administration, teacher and also a back-up contact teacher just in case you have questions about activities on these days. The "Contact" page on this website is a good way to get in touch with me. If you send an email through the page it will go directly to my school email account which is linked to my cell phone. If you feel you need to call, feel free to do so with the provided number in your child's NTI folder.

What to know about NTI

  • NTI assignments must be completed by the student.

  • NTI assignments must be turned in on the next day school is in session if possible. Students do have 7 school days to return it if needed, but this would make it hard for teachers to have the grades posted within the district applied grading window.

  • NTI grades must be posted to Infinite Campus within 7 school days of the assigned NTI day.

NTI UPDATES

I will post any NTI updates here and keep the website as up-to-date- as possible. Please keep in mind that internet is spotty in hard winters and also that I have three kids under the age of three, so it may take me a bit to get everything lined out :)
